Historic Village Opened

COLD SPRING - Historic Cold Spring Village wa$ the scene for an Antique Show and Sale on its opening weekend June 16 and 17 The show and sale featured dealers from New Jersey. New York and Pennsylvania In addition to the Village's annual Strawberry Festival, opening weekend included demonstrations by the Kauker Family of Spinners. Cape May County Militia and the Shoshone Indian Dance Team of Explorer Post 107 Demonstrations were held throughout the weekend The village will be open seven days a week beginn- ' ing at 10 a . m . through Sept . 30. The village consists of 15 restored buildings and features the Old Grange Restaurant, country store, ice cream parlor, bakery, crafts demonstrations and j shops, farm wagon tours and an animal petting farm.

Craftspeople for 1984 include a tinsmith, basketmaker. weaver, candlemaker, blacksmith, potter, and folk artist. The onetime admission allows for unlimited return visits.

Victorian Dinner Set On June 30 t- CAPE MAY - The MidAtlantic Center for the Arts MAC) is planning an elegant Victorian dinner party. Saturday. June 30. The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails or wine and hors d'oeuvres in the formal parlor of the Emlen Physick House. From there the guests proceed to the candlelit dining room for a full course dinner including dessert Choice of entrees includes either beef fenderloin with water chestnuts and Chinese pea pods of crevettes < shrimp i , au creme fraiche. After a | delicious dinner, coffee and mints will be served in the Music Room. The donation for the dinner and a tour of the house will be an all inclusive, tax deductible $30 each Attendance will be limited to 20 guests, so those interested are urged to call the MAC office 884-5404) and make reservation early. MAC Sponsors Trolley Rides CAPE MAY - Every evening except Wednesdays from June 29 through July 26. there will be round-trip trollev-bus service between Cape" May and Historic Cold Spring Village Sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts i MAC), these trolley rides allow visitors to leave their cars behind and take a care-free journey to the Cold Spring attraction. j Departing from Beach Drive at Gurney Street, the trolley will run two roundtrips to Historic Cold Spring Village each evening. Ride A leaves Cape May at 5:45 p.m. and returns at 7:45 p.m., while Ride B leaves Cape May at 6:30 p.m. and returns at 8:30 p.m.
