Township to Hold Celebration July 1

Court House — Final arrangements for Middle Township's Second Annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display have, been completed. This year's festivities will again be held at the Goshen Road Sports Complex beginning at 3:30 p.m. Sunday July 1. The program will begin with the Phillies Home Run Derby, sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies, followed by the Hoffnagle lown Family, who will present a clown and magic , show for children for all ages. Also, there will be fire engine rides, games, horse and buggy rides and other activities. Refreshments will be available with the proceeds going toward the cost of the day's activities. AT 6 p.m.. the Kentucky Dave Band will again give a country and western concert until dusk. At that to time, the fireworks will begin. Committeeman Charles S Leusner said that he ex- / pects many more people $ than last year: "Last year £ was our first year and peoM pie didn't know what to exY> pect but because of the sucw cess of last year's pron gram, the word has spread

and we anticipate a significantly larger crowd." Leusner praised Greg Arnold, recreation director, and the Recreation Advisory Council for the time and effort which they have put into this year's pro- < gram planning. SINCE TAX dollars are not being used to pay for ' the celebration, Leusner is appealing to the residents, businesses, and charitable organizations to consider donating whatever they can afford to raise the , needed funds. Also, the Middle j Township Optimist Club is sponsoring a raffle, in con- 1 junction with the Recrea- i tion Department, to help raise funds. Fifteen prizes are being chanced off, in- 1 eluding dinner for two at . five different restaurants, a men's bicycle, free • tickets to Hershey Park, and a free vacation in Paytona Beach, FI. Anyone wishing to donate to the Recreation Fireworks Display may do so by dropping off the donation at the Township Hall, the Recreation offjc'eTor by mailing it to Commit(eeman Leusner, |Townhship Hall, 33 .Mechanic St. Cape May Court House.
