Enter The Dragon ( Warne- ■ Brothers) "R" Several of I the late Bruce Lee's films I will appeal only to his loya ! | cult following, but mof should find this one enter taining. Here. Lee possessed the same, raw charisma of Sean Connery's James Bond or Cline Eastwood's Dirty Harry. The key to a successful Bruce Lee film wasn't always his fighting, but. instead. the humanistic qualities he brought to a picture. Simply by observing his expressive eyes or childlike grin, we could always tell if he felt grief or one of his victims or sadistic pleasure. Still, the most exciting moments come when Bruce Lee is in full action. It's unlikely anyone could be more graceful than Lee and this is never more clear than when he's in combat. Watching him fight is a thrilling experience. Unlike the typical Saturday afternoon Kung Fu films. Enter The Dragon is not just a collection of scenes of people beating each other up — the story is tight, dealing with international intrique. and the cast (including John Saxon and Jim Kelly) is consistently supportive. Still, it's sad watching Enter The Dragon, because it only enforces the argument that Bruce Lee's magical screen presence only tapped its potential. Oh. Alfie (Monterey) "R" This film has recently caused a bit of a stir because it features Dynasty star Joan Collins in a
steam>\little love scene, but. Oh. Aifie^§hgyld stand on its own as a sexy, yet tastefully done, comedy Its story concerns a -- young truck driver. Alfie (superbly played by former Animals' organist Alan Price), who can't keep away from women. He's constantly picking them up. He shows them little respect, as his attraction to the opposite sex purely physical. Then, along comes a beautiful, career minded
^vwmanj Abby (Jill Townslnd ) who instantly knocks otfer Alfie Problem is, /he's not interested in a -"quick fling Alfie, despite his efforts to fight it. falls in love with Abby and tries to win her over His frustrations and her problems accepting Alfie's feelings are lowkey, subtle British humor at its finest You won't find yourself rolling around with laughter, but it's hard not to smile throughout this
Npjcture. Oh. Alfie is a [perfect lesson that this type | of film doesn't have to be I full of crude jokes to work. v y\ Space Hunter: AdvenWis In The Forbidden Zone (RCA) "PG" I guess thfejjfc^imed more for little kipObut it's. so slow mov- ^ int^ven they will probably m bored. I honestly fell asleep before it ended, bqfr I can teil you it has mediocre special effects^ wooden acting from both Peter Strauss and Molly Ringwald, and a weak screenplay. The story concerns a bounty hunter who is trying to save three space maidens. I don't know if he f gets them or not and frank - 1 Iv I djp't care. Patrick (Vestron) "R" Here's a fun science fiction/horror film that deals with a guy. Patrick, who is in a coma but possesses psychokinetic powers. He just lies in his hospital bed and creates havoc around him. Though asleep, he does fall in love with his cute nurse (Susan Penhaligon) and makes her life rather unpleasant Not bad.
