Stop exercising im mediately if you experience any of the following symptoms: Headache (particularly throbbing around the temples); mus cle cramping in legs and" abdomen; weakness and nausea ; hot dry skin or profuse sweating; chills; ex treme fatigue. The following tips will help you keep your body cool while exercising this summer and avoid heatrelated problems : GIVE YOUR body time to adjust to warmer weather. Allow. 2-3 Weeks ( or longer as one gets older) to gradually adjust to physical activity in the summer. Exercise less intensely and for shorter periods of time than usual. Plan your exercise time for cooler times of the day. Light-coiored, loose clothing and exposed ar^as of skin aid evaporation of

body sweat to help your body maintain a safe temperature Drink plenty of fluids to replace water lost through perspiration and prevent dehydration Lightly salt your food at mealtimes to replace the body salt lost through perspiration and help avoid muscle cramps
