Twenty-seven graduates of Middle Township High School bridged the gap of Father time as they celebrated their 50th high school reunion this June. Dancing to music at the Wildwood Golf Club in Burleigh, they could easily have been at their Senior Prom. According to Gladys Pierson, one of the 1954 graduates, everyone seemed right at home and really hadn't changed much. Of course, she did say many were reunited only the previous decade at their 40th class reunion. Now 17 members of the graduating class are deceased, including Johnny Bruce, voted by his classmates as "most likely to succeed" and Theodore Moore from Stone Harbor, who was killed at war. Other classmates are scattered around in Wisconsin. Pennsylvania, Vienna. Panama, and Jordan. BUT FOR those who couldn't arrive from the ends of the earth for this event, seven made the ef-

fort from a considerable distance, Florida. Mabel Crismond gave the welcome and George Chambers, the invocation. Between courses of a full course dinner any prom queen would have enjoyed, Andrew Lindsay gave a speech called "Reflections" in which he tried to remember the alumni ds they were and as they are today. For instance, one 19:14 Middle graduate was left back in school but turned out to be one of the most successful in his group Margaret Thompson gave the awards, including the one to Mrs. Henry Vance, for having the most teeth. This might not have been fair because Mrs. Vance is a year to two older than the rest and not a member of the graduating class. You. see. Mrs. Vance was a school proctor for the classmates more than 50 years ago! THE "LAST Will and Testament" as the class honored the group on graduation day. is an odd theme for a congregation

as lively and humorous as this one. As .Vlarjorie Daniels gave the farewell and all exchanged glances they must have known their warm smiles would bring them back again for yet another reunion. Greg Arnold. Recreation Department Director, has been very busy lately planning events and activities fdr all ages. Summer camp, which began Monday. is being held at the County Park. Less structured daily activities will be held at the Cape May County Christian School in Rio Grande, the Whitesboro Recreation Center and at Elementary School 1. In the, world of sports, soccer for competition in the Cape May County Soccer Association is being organized for girls and boys 7-14, and the Middle Township Little League has leagues in all divisions, T-ball, Major League and Senior League for children 7-16. Girls' Softball is for ages 6-8 and Women's Softball, accepting ladies 18 years or older, will play in the Women's Slow Pitch League. There will be a soccer camp for soccer novices or experienced players. And last but nqt least, the Middle Township Division of the American Bicycle Association sponsors Bicycle Races every Thursday night three miles west of Court House on Dias Creek Road, at 6:15 p.m. These youngsters have been getting, their wheels turning to the tune of many beautiful trophy awards every week. This is National Relational and Parks month £ and, to help celebrate this ? and the arrival of balmier \ days, two "Get a Taste of 4 the Arts" events were held P* recently. An art display at i the Leroy May Center provided experimentation with many different art £ media and the Whitesboro b Recreation Center was the ? setting for a Black culture y fiesta of cooking, dancing. *1 poetry and music, which •t helped to make the celebra tion a real family affair.
