AFTER 16 YEARS on the : bench as head boys basketball coach aL Ocean City. Jack Boyd is calling it : quits. Season after season, the Red Raiders were contenders and qualifiers for i state competition under Boyd Bovd began his coaching career 23 years ago at Borden town Military School. I hen spent four seasons at Miliville before bringing his knowledge to Ocean City. At the time of his resignation Boyd was the longest Standing coach at the same school in South Jersey. In the Atlantic CountyBaseball League. Ocean City got back on the winning track with a doubleheader sweep over winles.s Stafford.

On the day. Todd Kunarnicki collected three! hits and a tridof RBI's in tpe 9-1 and 8-6 sweep, (nris Adams knocked in two runs with a single in the fifth inning of game two. REMARKS: The Philadelphia 76ers did very well In last week's NBA draft but the problems are now just beginning. With the new salary cap in place in the NBA. the Sixers will have problems signing Charles Barkley and Leon Wood. Also last week, the Sixers confirmed that they were shopping Julius Erving. The brass tried to trade Erving to San Diego (or is it L.A.? ) as a way to drop the high salary they pay Erving. I just hope that the move doesn't hurt the Doc-

tor's performance in his ; last season with Philly. His contract runs out after the ; upcoming season. ; Some things to think about: Can Jeff Stone make the i 4 Phillies roster for the rest of the season"7 Can the veterans win spots back from the young talent the i Phils seemed to be blessed > with? Are the Philadelphia Stars the bgst in the USFL? Could ther^tars beat the ) Eagles in \iead-to-head ( competition? V y . ' Was thi playofTTor the U.S. Open Golf Championship the most boring golf ever shown on television? How mui:h can John McEnroe pick up in fines during Wimbledon this year?
