New Discount Cards for Srs.

RIO GRANDE - It's small, yellow and black, and has Cape May County's senior citizens buzzing. No, it's not a bumble bee; it's the county's new Senior Citizen Discount Card, officially available next Tuesday July 9, but you can get one now if you ask. The Office on Aging has combined the discount card programs of Cape -May, Wildwood, and Middle and Upper townships into one program and one card.

It measures 21* by 4 inches, which inexplicably doesn't fit anybody's wallet, but that doesn't lessen the demand. WITH THE CARD, residents 62 and older will be able to get in most cases a 10 percent discount at more than a hundred county businesses. The deadline for local firms to get on that list of businesses has -.been extended. They should call

Rosalie Timmins at 886-2784 in order to be printed in a "Discount i Directory" that will be distributed to the senior 1 citizens at the end ob this i month. Computer produced, the directory will allow for periodic updating and additions of new businesses. The county has almost 25,000 year-round residents 62 and older, according to William Sheva, executive director of the office. To get the card, which is available at the office in the. Social Services Building \and at senior citizens centers add the courtesy van, proof of age and residency must be supplied. That can be the previous discount' card, a driver's license, etc. uriver s license, uii.
