Plan Awaiting BPU Nod
FOLSOM — South Jersey Gas Company has filed with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) for authorization to provide a comprehensive set of conservation programs for the second consecutive year which would aid natural gas customers in the utility's seven-county service area of southern New Jersey. If approved, the conservation plan will cost approximately $879,000 annually as compared with $840,000 for the current plan, which will expire in September "of this year. Similar to the existing program, titled "Conservation-Load Management Plan." the updated plan is designed to
actively provide con sumers with up-to-date conservation techniques and high efficiency natural gas appliances through no interest and .low interest loans, grant to low income customers, and rebate offerings. William F. Ryan, presi-i dent of the gas company) said the updated conservation plan would offer consumers a greater variety of benefits "Although natural gas is in good supply." Ryan stated, "South Jersey Gas has always taken its responsibility of finding better ways to use energy very seriously. We are implementing that philosophy in the revised features of the new Conservation-Load ; Management Plan, and I i believe these programs can <
I help energy users at all I economic levels." 3 LOANS FOR home con- ^ servation improvements.
