UPPER TOWNSHIP - Harry James Shaw Jr is the 1984 recipient of a $250 merit scholarship, the second to be awarded from the Somers Corson ScholarsjMjf Fund Presentation /was made by Somers Corsen during a recent Sunday morning worship service at the Sea ville\U$nted Methodist Churchy where "Jamie" Shaw has been an active member. A graduate with the Class of '84 from Ocean City High School. Jamie' I was a member of its ConI cert Choir. He also receivI ed the Louisa Corson Vocal I Award Among his acI tivities at church, he has I served as vice president I and president of the [ Seavilie UMYF, is a senior I choir member, and an j f alternate cgok for the W e d n e s A6y morning prayer breakfasts. Karen, was the first recipient of the Corson Scholarship last year This fund was established in January. 1984. when "Friends of Somers Corson" honored him for his dedication to church and community in surprise ceremonies during a hymn sing The scholarship fund was established with initial contributions totaling $2,500. The fund is intended to provide nominal postsecondary scholarship for deserving youth of the Seavilie United Methodist Church. Friends who wish to con tribute to the scholarship fund may send their checks payable to "Somers Corson Scholarship Fund" to the Seavilie United Methodist Church. Ocean View.
