'Starlight' Hauls Anchor

WILD WOOD CREST - Capt. Jim Cicchitti has taken delivery of his new custom designed and built party fishing boat. Starlight. She is 90-feet long, aluminum construction, with twin V-8 92 GM diesel engines for 800-horse power and speeds to 21 knots. Her deep V-hull design, adapted from cigarette type racing boats, provides passenger comfort in sea conditions that keep others at the dock. She is licensed to carry 150 persons. Inside her heated cabin on the main deck is seating at tables for 70 passengers A complete galley is featured with microwave and convection ovens where beverages are also available. Anglers will enjoy television, stereo and

video arcade games on trips to and from the fishing grounds. BELOW DECKS are men's and ladies accommodations along with plans for some 70 bunks allowing for overnight excursions. Inside the wheelhouse are controls and instruments that would make James Bond envious. There are daul electronics including auto pilots, ship to shore VHF radios 72-mile range radars, depth finders (sonar) and sea temperature gauges. Computerized Lor an — C can locate positions at sea within one foot in any direction. This device enables Cicchitti to locate wrecks, haven of many species, with pinpoint accuracy. Beyond this, is a new device, one that fish simply cannot match mits wit, a color-computerized video fish-finder. It discriminates between species it locates for beneath the depths by color coding. Anglers can then cast certain bait and rigs to entice and out-smart the fish. L'PPEK DECK seating accommodates lounging and isuntanning, providing for party fishing's newest market: women and children. "Years ago. fishing was just for the boys". said the captain, "but in the summertime we now cater mostly to families. '.Many people wear bathing suits aboard since tanning is faster on the water,' he said Cicchitti welcomes youngsters aboard, stating "catching your first fish is becoming a rite of passage " The new boat will fish eight hour trips at 8 a.m daily in spring and fall Four hour trips at 8 a m & 1 p.m run until to Sept 15. Brooks, 707 San Fernando Rd., has been named to the Dean's List at Mount Saint Mary's College, Emmitsburg. Md., for the second semester. Brooks, a graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School, is a junior. To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 out of a possible 4.0 for the semester's work.
