ZE1.MK After three weeks of using "management decisions" to determine its Super Now account interest rates Ocean City Home Savings & Loan has returned to the old reliable 91 -day Treasury Bill rate, minus 1 percent: As a result. Ocean City last week was paying 9.04 percent interest on that account. which is identical to the insured money market savings account ($2,500

minimum), but offers unlimited checking That's 2.5 percent more than the lowest Super Now rate in the county Ocean City S&L President Robert Smith said the institution returned to the T-bill indexing "to keep the rate in perspective." ShopRite Has Tips on Meat

ELIZABETH - What's your meat IQ? Try ^his simple true/false quiz: —Ham steak can be more expensive than a « whole ham. —Chicken breasts are usually a better buy than legs or thighs, because they yield more edible meat per pound. —More quality will be retained during freezing if you place securely wrapped meat next to the freezer wall until it is

frozen through. —Savvy shoppers save money by figuring meat budgets by cost per serving, not cost per pound. If you answered "True"' * to the above questions, pat yourself on the back. But these are just a sampling from "75 Meat Trips," prepared by the Consumer Affairs Department of ShopRite Supermarkets. THE £REE pamphlet is now available in the Consumer Information Center

located in each ShopRite store. The informational brochure covers everything you need to know about meat, in- ' eluding shopping, preparation and cooking, refrigeration, leftovers, nutrition and carving. For example, the pamphlet explains how to get more calcium from bone-in meat dishes by adding an acid food, such as vinegar or lemon juice. Or that variety packages of luncheon meats are more ex pensive than one-of-a-kind packages. Or, if you take the time to slice your own bacon you'll achieve significant savings and also be able to use the rind for flavoring stews or vegetables. For further information on deriving as much nutritional value from meat while staying within your food budget, contact the Consumer Affairs Department, Shopkite Supermarkets, 600 York St., Elizabeth, NJ 07207, or drop by any ShopRite store.
