Boat Tours Added To Festival i
STONE HARBOR - Four bay exploring boat tripe have been added in three towns for the New Jersey Wings 'n Water Festival to be held the third weekend of September Two sunset cruises and two morning paddlewheeler rides will be narrated by knowledgeable guides of the inland water- , ways and regional wildlife. Proceeds from the morning tours will benefit both the ^Hereford Inlet Lighthouse restoration and the /V etlands Institute. \ Saturday and Sunday, ) Sept. 15-16, the " Delta ) Lady" riverboat will turn / its paddlewheel south at 9:30 a.m. It will tour Sunset Lake, Turtle Gut Inlet, past the U.S. Coast Guard Base, Gold Spring Inlet and the Cape May Canal to the ) ferry landing and return to the Wildwood Yacht Basin. WITH THE assistance of Cpt. Bill Henfey and his wife Diane, the "Delta Lady" rides have been arranged through the
Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Committee. Tickets are now available at the Historic Hereford Inlet Lighthouse in North Wildwood and the Wetlands Institute nature bookshop, near Stone Harbor. The popular sunset cruises will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday only, leaving two ports at the same time. Stone Harbor and Avalon. Wetlands Institute board members Dr. Roger Wood, a zoologist at Stockton State College, and Joseph Lomas, an entomologist who is an environmental consultant, will narrate the back bay trip6 on the "Miss Avalon" and the "Captain Cramer", from Avalon and stone Harbor respectively. Refreshments and drinks will be included in the ticket for the evening tours, a benefit for the Wetlands Institute. : research and public educa > tion in coastal ecology It is open daily without charge from 10 to 4, Tuesdays i through Saturdays, and of- - i fers a wetland a museum, lecture hall displays, observation tower, and salt marsh trail.
