Dekelco Tightens Clutch on First

CAPE MAY - Dekelco continued its torrid pace on the way to the regular season championship as it notched two wins this past week to up its league leading record to 22-1. On Tuesday in a clash of two of the league's better teams Dekelco bested EECEN 12 to 3 with Buiz Halliman down the Coast Ggard Bears 8 to 3 Thursday as its tough defense turned three double plays. The Rusty Nail improved its playoff hopes as it swept a double header with Cape Abstract Monday. The Nail destroyed Cape Abstract in a 25 to 0 shutout in the first game. Terry Randolph turned in a masterful pitching performance as he limited the opposition to just two hits. On Thursday in a clash of teams competing for third place the Pirate's Den downed Doc's Custard 18 to x 9 as Glen Pennycook and Ron Denny both banged out five hits. The Den then downed the Bayshore Lounge 14 to 6 Friday as Joe leoBiondo collected four hits and Pick Longo chipped in with three. The Pirate's Den got its third win on Monday as it defeated Atlas Motor Inn 13 to 6. Longo scattered four hits as Bill Kennedy. Ken Johnson and LoBiondo each blasted a home run. Law's Printing continued its league leading pace asit collected three wins on the week to up its record tp 23-2.
