Antiques Show Set For Return
COLD SPRING - Attendance was up 48 percent from last July at the outdoor antiques show at historic Cold Spring Village despite the sunny 93-degree temperature Customers have come to know that the show is held in deep shade in a cool wooden glen < rare at the seashore). Not only local shop owners but many hotel, bed a nd breakfast and restaurant owners were on hand early Saturday snapping up good buys in walnut, wicker, oak and pine, rugs, paintings, frames, linens, and plated hoUoware. WITH THE increase in attendance and a smaller, 10 per cent incre&se in dealers almosfall dealers had good shows. Both costume and fine jewelry sold well. Terry and Ered Reiger set up a dispMhiy of gold jewelry including a $50,000 large carved opal set in diamonds. The opal didn't sell, though many other fine pieces did. Terry did a big business in jewelry cleaning and repair also. What was to be a lark and a vacation turned out to be a profit maker for the traveling Florida dealers and their son Joe. Polly Yuhas of Cedar Hollow Country Store of i^alvern, Pa., was kept ■ busy all day seling country artifacts, folk art and ■ quilts. BECAUSE THE show draws visitors from up to 50 miles along the shore and shpre visitors from as far away as Canada the range of litems that can be sold heije is enormous Eighty dealers are signed up for the show to be held Aug 11 and 12. Ten mort cap be accommodated in small spaces. Stayinglover on the grounds of the village in x vans is permitted. Motels J and hotel rooms are £ unavailable if reservations J have not already been j made as August is so s popular a time in Cape j May. Campgrounds 1 abound in the area, but 1 reservations are needed. j Historic Cold Spring J Village is located on ( Seashore Road 1'2 miles ] west on Route 109 from Ex- J it Q of the Garden State j Parkway. r A $1 show admission of- L fere a season pass to the y village.
