Pine Barrens Walk Slated . i

STONE HARBOR - "A Walk through the Pine Barrens" will be presented by naturalist Walter Bien on Saturday at the Wetlands Institute. His glides and narration will begin at 8:15 p.m. in the Marshview Lecture hall. Bien summered as a youngster in a primitive cabin in the Pine Barrens . at Browns Mills. "When I say primitive, I mean no electricity, no bathrooms and no running water," he lapghs, "Most campers today don't, know the real meaning of'bafk to nature."

These experiences led to a life-long fascination with the Pine Barrens' botany, i wildlife and ecology. He /TOW operates a parttime business, Pine Barrens En- 1 counters, from his home, « and offers lectures and tours through the Barrens country. 7 1 A TEACHER of physical ' education, Bien lives with his wife and daughter in I i Langhorne, Pa., northeast 1 of Philadelphia. He serves on the advisory board of 1 the Silver Lake Nature Center, and is a member of : the Friends of the Pine Barrens and the Langhorne :

Historical Society. A graduate of West Chester State College, he holds a master's degree from Trenton State, and an environmental education certification from Penn State Univeristy. He teaches two courses on the Pine Barrens and coastal Habitats of New Jersey as a parttime faculty member of Penn State's Ogantz campus. "A Walk through the Barrens" js one of the weekly lecture series scheduled throughout August at the Wetlands Institute, one mile east of Stone Harbor. Bazaar on * At Advent CAPE MAY - The 118th Annual Summer Bazaar of the Church of the Advent js being held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the Parish Hall, 612 Franklin St. Featured are all kinds of food, fancy gift t&ble, plants, white elephant table, hot dogs, books and magazines. TTie card party and luncheon of the church will be held 11^30 a.m. tomorrow at the Huntington House. Grant and North Streets.
