Mezzo-soprano Will Give Recital
CAPE MAY — A voice recital, entitled "From Bach to Broadway" will be given by mezzo-sopraho Nancy Stott of Ocean City at the Church of the Advent. Franklin and Washington Streets. 8pm tomorrow. Miss Stott is a graduate of Glassboro State College and former resident . of Cape May. where she was the alto soloist at the Church of the Advent. She is a past soloist of the United Methodist Church. Drexel Hill. Pa. and has been alto soloist for the past yfcir at the Margate CommuWty Church. She hai appeared as guest soloW during the past year with^ie Atlantic Community Cotege Orchestra, Shelton^lqllege Chorus. Margate FestmaL Chorus. St. Peter's Unitec^ Methodist Church. Ocean City, and has sung at Beht Israel Synagogue in I Sid CI Ojlldgugut- III
Margate. MISS STOTT has studied voice with Joan Monasevitch. Myra \furphy and Paul McKay and (" has sung with the j Mendelssohn Club and ! The soloist will be accompanied by Victoria Yob. organist and pianist of Margate Mrs. Yob is currently tfc* organist at Margate Community Church and Beth Israel Synagogue and has been musical director for shows at Stockton State College. Gateway Playhouse. Somers Point, and the Golden Eagle Dinner Theater. Cape May. The recital is free and open to the public. Comedy \ Troupe )'( s v) -* Returns CAPE MAY - The Port ' Authority Theatre Ensemrm ble. a New York City com 1 edy improvisational I troupe, returns to the Chalfonte Hotel with a new revue entitled "Cape Com ed>" directed by • Peter Reimann. this month This show is made up of several scenes improvised on stage based on suggestions* taken from the audience plus other scenes based on suggestions from audienqes of previous shows. Due to the fact that several scenes are totally improvised the show changes somewhat from night to night. In the cabaret style atmosphere drinks will be served and audience members are encouraged to participate in the shows, too. The ensemble will be per forming all weekends in August.
