MDA Drive Aided By Warner Amex

He noted that the New Jersey system will fully coordinate its activities with the local MDA office

in Cherry Hill. The Warner Amex/MDA fund-raising effort will center on a six-week campaign begun Aug. l_and extending through the Jerry Lewis Telethon over Labor Day Weekend. Scarpa said that

throughout this six-week period, any installation of Warner Amex Cable ser- ^ vice, or upgrade of existing service, will result in the direct donation of $5 to MDA from Warner Amex Cable to help "Jerry's Kids"

Scarpa said plans are already underway to coor- - dinate other local promotions designed to raise even mdre funds for MDA. This includes a Super Dance to \ lie held 8 p.m Thursday. Aug. 23. at the Avalon Community Hall.

Bor,o Gives • Parking Tickets AVALON — The borough had a comparatively light period of lawless activity July 23-29, with only 26 criminal arrests and 55 traffic tickets issued, according to the report of Police Chief Joseph E. Foley. During that period, police issued 67 parking tickets, slightly more than the previous week. Breakdown follows: Traffic tickets. 55 — speeding, 30; careless driving. 4; no liceree or registration in poswssion. 4; failure to. keep right. 3; driving while revoked. 3; stop sign, 2; red light, 1; f alcohol in a motor vehicle (open), 1; other. 7. Criminal arrests, 26 — openly displaying alcohol. 12; noise. 4 (all on the week-end); foul and abusive language. 2; littering. 2; disregard of police officer. 1 ; possession of marijuana. 1; bad check. 1 ; failure to pay toll. 1 ; sleeping in motor vehicle, l ; no life jackets .( boat) 1.
