Celebrates Her 99th Birthday
UPPER TOWNSHIP - Minnie R. Black observed < her 99th birthday July 25 with a family dinner at the \ Tuckahoe Inn. On the .Saturday preceding, her -'daughter, Olive Woolston, and son-ip-law George hosted a party at their Petersburg home, where Minnie has lived for several years. Fifty-five relatives, neighbors and friends enjoyed a buffet luncheop, punch and cake. Special music was played by George Woolston at an electric organ, Clarence Leeds on violin and Frank Weed and granddaughter „ Jennifer Black guitars. Fred Knoller also came to the microphone to sing. Throughout the afternoon friends joined in a sing along as old favorites were played. MRS. BLACK wore a dress which she made. Her family and friends have treasured handcrafted items which she has made with love and care. Her needlework projects have included beautiful crewel
embroidery, while some of her recent items have been on the now popular plastic canvas. Minnie came to Petersburg from Linwood several years ago. She has a keen mind, and keeps nimble fingers l|usy, making beautiful gifts and items for the church bazaar She attends the Wesley Methodist Church V regularly, and enjoys correspondence with friends and relatives. Minnie's son George, his wife and their daughter Jennifer, who live jn Pitman, joined the lawn party Saturday. Her son. William, who lives in Reading. Pa., came for a visit on her birthday Mrs. Black has six grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, and many friends.
