| Seashore Garden I Tour Sites Picked

f STONE HARBOR - ' Five Avalon gardens have 2 been selected for special !; Seashore Garden Tours !• Saturday and Sunday. }' Sept. 15 and 16. as part of \ the New Jersey Wings n d Water Festival The festival, a benefit for the Wetlands Institute, will feature 45 events in rtine localities for two days. Mary Jane Lea. chairman of the new seaside tours, said, 'We tried to pick a garden in each barrier island setting: ocean, bay. inlet and mid-island. The idea is to show the types of flora that can thrive and survive on our barrier islands '' REPRESENTING the ocean side, the home of Robert and Joan Narrigan will display a variety of .£ plants against a il background of native Y bayberry. all cultivated to jC, preserve dunes and en- \ courage birds. Daisies, P lavender and other flowers ►t flourish in the sandy soil. A bayside garden is typified by the homesite of Mr and Mrs. William Diller. The garden also features a weeping willow, juniper, contorted willow and fruit trees — apples, peach, plum and cherry, as a backdrop Along side are holly and pine trees. The Seashore Garden Tour will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 and 16 starting from 7th and Ocean Drive Visitors can travel to each site in their own cars or by trolley originating at the Wetlands Institute. The institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to education and research concerning coastal ecology, is situated one mile west of Stone Harbor It offers an observation tower. Wetlandia museum, nature bookshop and salt marsh trail open 10 to 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Saturdays. There is no admission charge.

'Enforcer' i Scheduled j For Aug. 15 SEA ISLE CITY - "En- 1 forcer ". a musical group 1 headed by Riek Marshall. 1 will be featured here as " part of the Wednesday night concert program Aug 15 on the Promenade at JFK Blvd starting at 7:30 p.m. Larry Ferrari, originally scheduled that date, will play the next night. Aug 16 The band "Enforcer" is a respected original trio f r o m t h e Philadelphia /Delaware area The gruup is known for its unique, original sound and stage performance The performing members of Enforcer consist of three musicians Rick Marshall on guitar, keyboards, and Vocals. Jesse Hunter on harmonica, and vocals, and Ian Johns on drums, percussion, and vocals They have released their 45 as a tribute to their shore spot, titled Sea Isle City".
