>Jews Notes from The Cape Mays Dolly Stango
The Parking and transportation Committee, City of Cape May, will meet tonight at 7 sharp in the auditorium. The meeting has been scheduled to receive "specific input from the public, particularly those who offered support and help at the Aug. 6 City Council meeting on how the City's Zoning Ordinance should be changed to address parking in center city". Also, a tabulation of the results of the Summer
Survey questions on parking and transportation isues will be presented. Do make it a point to be present at this very important meeting. It's a good way to hear the very latest, and perhaps include your thoughts too, about this very important parking issue in our city. Guess all social programs will now have us all sitting up and taking notice, now that Edith Rimerman is in charge. Where? At the Corinthian Yacht Club, of course! Edith will have some exciting plans come to the fore. Let's all plan to cooperate and do our best by supporting all the • goodies" to come! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to beautiful Anita Tees, all of 12 years old. She's the beautiful daughter of Noel apd Walter Tees. Also best wishes to Miriam Brown. Michelle Hart and Joseph Thomson. The Cape May County Art League, in the Carriage House of the Physick Estate, 1050 Washington St., Cape May, is having something^ new and exciting. It's5 an Art Collectors Lottery, Sunday. Aug. 26. It'll be for exhibiting the "best of art" as well as a means of raising funds for the Art League. Here's how it'll work : artists are requested to donate one or more original works 'in any medium, including graphics and sculptures. Each work should be ready for display and should be worth a minimum of $50, the amount patrons contribute to participate in the lottery. Tickets equal to the number of donated works will be sold at $50 to interested patrons, thus assuring that everyone who buys a ticket will receive a work of art. THE EXCITEMENT and interest comes from the random drawing of numbered tickets to determine the order in which patrons will select the work of art of their choice. Although the possibilities for selection are diminished with each number drawn, a person's chances to obtain the work of his or her choice are not necessarily eliminated, since many different media and schools will b^ presented and patr^iris' taste vary. < There'll be a preview jjjwL.
wine and cheese reception for contributing artists and patrons on the day of the event, beginning at 4 p.m This will afford an oppor tunity to visit with fellow artists, to appreciate their works and also to meet potentially new patrons. The lottery is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Want to be sure you're a part of all this very exciting Lottery'' Do. call the Art League at 884-8628, stop in at the Carriage House, or phone one of the artists. Helen Dilday . at 884-2518 and all will be arranged for you. Do it now so as to be certain of your participation for this very worthy cause. You do not have to be an Art League member.
