Soprano Featured In Advent Recital
CAPE MAY Morgia Koak, soprano, will give a recital 8 p.m. Thursday. Aug. 23. at the Church of the Advent. Washington and Franklin Streets. It is the fourth in the series. " Thursday Evenings at the Advent" The concert will feature / ' classical works by J.S. Bach. Mozart. Schubert and Verdi. American folk songs and spirituals by Boatner and Copland will round out the presentation." Nancy Stott will accompany'Ms. Koak in Schubert's "Auf dem Strom" on the French horn. from the Church of the Advent „ MS. KOAK IS a graduate of the University of the Pacific. Conservatory of Music. Stockton, Calif. She is now the soprano soloist at the Margate Community Church / For the past several years she has appeared as soloist at the Church of the Advent and other area churches Beth Israel Synagogue. Atlantic City, the Stockton Chamber Singers and the Festival Chorus of South Jersey. She also has given recitals and appeared in operatic productions with the South Jersey Opera Co. at the Gateway Playhouse. Somers Point. Her Cape May appearances include the role of Mary in Randall Thomp-
son's " The Nativity" at the Church of the Advent and the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea. She was featured in a recent production of "Amahl and the Night Visitors" by Menotti at Atlantic Community College. ACCOMPANIST Dr Walter Hilse is active as a composer, organist and pianist. He has completed a two-year term as Dean of the New York City Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He has appeared in concert throughout the United States and Europe, and has presented five organ recitals at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. New York. He also collaborates with several choral groups, solo singers and instrumentalists. He is now the Artist
in-Residence at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in New York and is a j member of the organ facul- ! ty of the Manhattan School j of Music Dr. Hilse has recently received several commissions to create ■ liturgical and secular j compositions.
St. John Retreat

Guitarist In Concert

Hughes and Decatur Streets The concert is from 4 to 4:30 p.m Goslin is versatile musician who has been performing in Europe and the United States since the age of 16 His solo and ensemble repertoires include many musical styles, rang ing from Renaissance to contemporary. A resident of Manhattan. Goslin has been featured on radio and television. He performs extensively in and around New York City and throughout the eastern f United States as a soloist and as a regular member
of various chamber ensembles. Goslin began his guitar studies at the Real Conservatory of Madrid, Spain, and later attended the Hochschule fur Musik in West Berlin He is currently a student of Pat O'Brien and has also studied with Philip DeFremery and Juan de la Mata. Goslin is also accomplished on Renaissance lute and recorder The Tuesday Afternoon Mini Concerts are free and open to the public.
