Custard No Soft Touch CAPE MAY - Doc's | Custard, the Cinderella team of the tournament, continued to impress as it made its way to the semifinal round of the men's softball National League playoffs by defeating the Pirate's Den 9 to 4 in the last game of the best of three series. Doc's then met regular season champion Law's Printing in the semi-final and promptly lost the first game 7 to 1. Law's Kevin Sherman and Brendan Rosenberg supplied the offensive firepower as each launched a home rim. Doc's bounced back in the second game and edged Law's 5 to 4 in dramatic fashion. Down 4 to 3 in the bottom of the 7th inning with one man on and one out, Doc's Gary Hunter stepped up and slapped a single to right field. The ball was bobWed and the runner on first headed for home plate. The throw past Law's catcher, allying both runners to score and Doc's to win the game 5 to 4 to knot the series at one game apiece.
