Colonial Fair Set Sept. 8 I

DENNIS VILLE - The Dennis Township Historical Society will hold its second annual Colonial Fair and Flea Market 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 8 at the old Ludlum School, Route 47 here. Along with the usual flea market fare there will be crafts people demonstrating their talents. These will include Bill Brown with his cannons showing how gum were made during the Civil War period. Festival Planned CAPE MAY - The se- , cond annual Seafood '"Festival, sponsored by the Greater Cape May Chamber of Commerce, will be held Sept. 7, 8, 9. Purposes of the festival are: to recognize the importance of the commercial fishing industry in Cape May, which is the largest fishing port in the MidAtlantic Region. Second, to memorialize commercial fishermen who have lost their lives at sea. THIRD, to provide emergency funding to families of commercial fishermen when tragedy occurs. f Fourth, t,o attract tourists to Cape May and expose them to the fishing resources available. Because of the success of last year's event, the chamber wa&obLe to provide emergency funding to families of the crewmen who lo6t their lives in the sinking of the Liberty. establish a 4-H Marine club for children; produce a hand carved sign to be placed as a permanent memorial to fishermen lost at sea, and publicize Cape May's seafood reputation throughout the East Coast.

Margaret Robinson will show quilting skills, Bev Henry will demonstrate weaving while Don Henry will show how a potter's wheel, is used. Denise Sissan" will be spinning wool to be used in Bev's weaving. RUTH FISHER will show rug-braiding, one of the first forms of recycling. Alice Belanger will demonstrate stencilling, an art form used for many years in the decora .tion of walls, floors and furniture. Fun games and food will be provided by the Lohnes family.
