Seminar on Drugs, Alcohol, Pregnancy

COURT HOUSE - A seminar for perinatal health professionals, entitled "Drags, Alcohol and the Pregnant Woman", will be held at the county Health Department's Crest Haven complex here Oct. 5. The program will open with registration at 8:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day. It is aimed at nurses, doctors, social workers and any • others involved in maternity services and prenatal care. ^ .

TO OUR CUSTOMERS: Notice is hereby given that on March 30, 1984, South Jersey Gas Company ( Company) filed a Petition with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (Board) in Docket No. 843-184, together with revised tariff sheets containing increased rates for gas service and other revised tarns and conditions, and a proposed change in its depreciation rates. The changes were proposed to become effective for service rendered on and after November l, 1984 as to the Company's Cape May Division and on and after July 1, 1984, for the balance of the Company's service territory or at such later date as the Board may determine Based upon the Company's total projected operating revenues, per books, for the twelve months ended June 30, 1984, the new rates proposed herein would yield additional operating revenues of approximately $14,063,800 a 5.6%. The actual percentage increase applicable to specific customers will vary according to the applicable rate schedule and the level of the customer's usage. Under the Company's proposal, at typical levels of consumption residential and general service customers would receive increases of between 2.4% and 19.9%. Moreover, any rate relief foundby the Board to be just and reasonable may be allocated by the Board and applied by the Company to any class or classes of customers or any rate schedules as the Board may determine, so that final rates approved by the Board in this proceeding for any specific customer class or rate schedule may be higher or lower than those set forth herein. The Company's composite depreciation rate is currently 3.15%. The proposed composite rate is 3.17%. i The following comparison of present and proposed rates will permit customers to determine the effect upon 1 them of the proposed increased rates. Any assistance required by customers in this regard will be furnished by { the Company upon request.
