Rosemarie Dubler called I to tell us about the neat 1 benefit cocktail party she is 2 chairing for Maris Stella I Church Saturday. Sept 8. I from 5:30 'til 9 p.m. The I party will be held on the 1 premises at 50th and Dune Drive. Believe us, this isn't just another cocktail party where one seeks to make conversation Daring the party we wiH"be entertained by The West Point Choir giving a performance of secular music: everything from tunes from Broadway s I musicals to New Orleans k jazz to appeal to the most eclectic taste One of our most unforget table moments in life was hearing the Corps sing with the choir at the magnifi cent chapel on the Hudson Like Conrad, we'll be sear ching for our youth at this party. Bonne Feise will be doing all the decorations. Parishioners will supply most of the hors d'oevres. supplemented by cash donations from local merchants There will be a 50-50 and. of course, a basket of cheer Kathleen Doyle is ticket chairman"^) call her at 967-3875 or Rosamarie at 967-5686 for farther info or reservations. Were on our way back to ourflate teens — see you there
In our item in last week's issue of the Herald about the Sept. 8th general meeting of the Stone Harbor Realty Owners Assoc. , at 10 a.m. in the Elementary School we were unaware that Rose Rice, of 161 83rd St.. a long-time resident of this community and associated with Shelter Haven Realty, was also on the slate of the nominating committee for trustee of the ROA. A. Wayne Robinson. Executive Secretary for the organisation, told us this meeting "could be a lively one" and urged us to attend. ON THE ADVICE of several people we checked out the Flagship condiminium at 81st St. and^ the bay They really are quiet different and even the exterior has charm The building* designed by Don ZackeT of Avalon and built by the Leahy Construction Co We thought the units were well planned. taking___ full advantage of Jhe-view to the west and the sunsets and realistically priced for a change. Each unit has two parking spaces for cars, lovely decks with ramps to private floating docks, and plenty of closet space. They are attractively furnished in contemporary style.
