Wings ' n Water Festival Widened

Jtone harbor - High dune walks, retriever demonstrations, a salt water aquarium workshop, whaler's cabin tours, riverboat rides and live hawk show will be major new ingredients of the New Jersey Wings 'n Water Festival this fall. A benefit for the Wetlands Institute and Museum, the two-day festival will feature 45 events celebrating the natural attractions in two Southern Shore counties. <?ap>e May and Cumberland. Sept. 15 and 16 Centerpiece of, the show is the world class decorative bird carving competition and sale in Stone Harbor. Decoys, wildlife art. duck stamps, books and prints will also be displayed there. THE INSTITUTE festvial headquarters will feature a large tent of nature exhibitors, salt marsh safaris, la bora tor. tours, nature books and

authors, fiddler crab races and music of the sea complemented by food and cheer. Other activities take place in Court House, Cape May, Cppe May Point, the Wildwoods, Stone Harbor. Avalon, Swainton, Bridgeton and Millville. An oyster bar with fresh, shucked clams and oysters, an old fashioned seafood dinner and Wet 'n Wild food and drink will be available for hungry visitors. Trolley and jitney rides will be provided between the institute and Stone Harbor, Avalon and Court House. THE U.S. COAST Guard will perform several air /sea rescues, the base will bold open house, and the USCG Band will play music of the sea A whaling exhibit will be the highlight of Cape May County's Historical Museum, and a giant County Flea Market will be held in the Jamesway Plaza in Court House Last year's repeat favorites include fishing ( crafts and demonstrations at Historic Cold Spring Village,. an oystermg-and decoy -carving exhibit at Wheaton Village in Millville, the C-ohanzick Zoo at Bridgeton and the Hereford Inlet Historic Lighthouse in North Wildwood Sunset boat cruises with a naturalist aboard were a terrific hit last fall, and / another boat will be added ( this year on Saturday .* night.
