Avalon Run for Life Will Aid Charities I

AVALON, - The Borough of Avalon and the New Avalon Run for Life Committee will hold the 7th Annual Run for Life for the benefit of various local charities The 5-mile run starts at Avalon Community Hall at 8:30 a.m. Sunday Sept. 9. CAPE MAY - Laws' Printing, shooting for the elusive hat trick of Softball, won its third consecutive National League title by 'defeating Burke Builders three games to one in the best of five final series. Law's started slow-by losing the series opener to Burke's 9-3 behind the hitting of Chock Matthew^ Jim Riddle and Ed Bosch; Laws' had 16 hits in the loss, but only 3 runs to show for it. IN THE GAME TWO. however. Laws' scored in every inning to down Burke 8-6 The big guns wdre Kevin Sherman with three hits, including a home run. and Ernie Trotano's RBI single and two-run triple. John Vogel also had three hitSj (six consecutive hits in the series ) . Game 3 saw Laws' take a 2 1 series advantage 7-4 Laws packed away, sawing in three of the first five innings while Burke's scored four runs in the 4th
