N.J. National Has Ready Equity Line .

I "New Jersey National Bank introduced its Ready /Equity account to the / marketplace of Centratend J Southern New Jersey July 23, 1983. Today, the line of credit extended to the I bank's 3.700-plus ReadyEquity customers topped the S100 million mark." recently announced E.J. Elias. the bank's senior vice president in charge of Retail Financial Sen-ices He added that the popularity of Ready Equity made a significant contribution to the bank's earnings for the first half of 1984 NEW JERSEY National w>U be acquiring Citizens United Bank, with offices in West Cape May and Woodbine, about. Oct. 1. New Jersey National was one of the first banks in the state to offer a product like Ready Equity Good timing, combined with an excellent marketing plan, enabled us to launch the product with tremendous success. On the average, we close $2 - $3 million in new business each week." explained Joseph J. Patrick, assistant vice president and coordiistor of the Ready Equity program. Since its introduction over a year ago. Ready Equity has remained com-__ petitively priced and consistently lower-priced than competitive products like it. In an additional effort to attract customers. New ^Jersey National waived the set-up fee of $100 for Ready Equity applicants from July 1983 through June 1984.

Patrick said. "We identified these potential customers' primary capital needs as home improvement. education, second homes, investments, debt consolidation and automobiles. QUALIFIED Ready Equity customers receive a pre-approved line of credit up to 75 percent of the value of their homes, minus the mortgage balance — anywhere from $5,000 to $1 00,000 or more. Customers tap this credit line simply by writing a check. The benefits of Ready Equity include convenient access to cash ; the security of knowing that money is available when heeded over a contract period of 15 years; quick approval of credit applications, lowminimum monthly payments; and no prepayment penalties, according to Patrick. Most recently. New Jersey National introduced Ready Equity into the market of Citizens United Bank through Citizens' branches. ^ "TO INTRODUCE our product into Citizens' market, we implemented an advertising campaign in area newspapers which provides potential customers with two things ; a coupon Jhat-can^be mailed to"NJNB to obtain an application, and a toll-free r number at which they can contact a New Jersey National representative for additional information about Ready Equity or a credit application," Patrick explained. New Jersey National Bank, with $1.4 billion in assets, operates 55 offices in Central and Southern New Jersey.
