^Jews Notes from The Cape Mays Dolly Stango
It's something brand new you'll be able to enjoy free: The Victorian Trolley as a shuttle from the Information Booth on the Mall < Ocean Street and Mall ) to
the Physick Estate. 1048 Washington St., Cape May. e-A 1-
This courtesy is being extended by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC)
to anyone who purchases a : Physick Estate tour ticket. In that way visitors will be able to board the trolley at the Information Booth and proceed directly to the Physick Estate for the house tour there. It's a great convenience that j saves so much time and is easy on the feet, too! ! SO MANY kind expres1 sions of thanks have come from family and friends of the late Louise Zerby. The Memorial Fund in the name of Louise and William Zerby (her husband) is gaining momentum The proceeds will go toward purchasing furniture for the'formal parlor in the Physick mansion. "Bill" Zerby. who passed on before his wife, Louise, was interested so much in the restoration of the beautiful Physick house' (the home of the MidAtlantic Center for the Arts). His dear wife was deeply involved getting the interior of the mansion back to its original state. Some of the original fixtures and furnishings were recovered from wherever they were scattered. Some had been purchased by others in the years when the mansion was standing unoccupied. SLOWLY. BUT most assuredly, the Physick mansion has come "alive". For instance, Dr. Emlen Physick, (a physician), was the original owner of the house), ar 1 now his bedroom is furnished with his beautiful set just as he had it years ago. Louise Zerby rounded up the pieces of tiles originally belonging to the various fireplaces/throughout the mansion. Electrical fixtures which "came with the house" suddenly came out of nowhere. Louise, researched it all to find the places where all these various items might be. Now-, the project is being continued in Louise Zerby's jHf nor and memory. Furniture for the formal parlor is still needed, and that's why the Memorial Fund is being established. Besides, what better way to make sure it's the way Louise would have wanted it? i The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts in Cape May is ,
the place to contact at 884 5404 Michael Zockerman, director, will explain any other questions you may have on this project. The office is located in the Hill House on the Physick Estate grounds.
