Gas Service Set For Airport Park
ERMA — South Jersey Gas Company and the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders last week completed an agreement to extend natural gas service to the County Industrial Park and the adjoining airport facilities here. Freeholder Director Anthony T. Catanoso was joined by Richard T. Sigmund. senior vice president, public affairs and marketing, for South Jersey Gas Co., and A. H. Chiids. executive director, Cape May County Airport Industrial Park, to finalize the project in a brief ceremony held on the grounds of the industrial park.
VIHE ONE AND ONEHALF main extension, which South Jersey Gas will construct, is to be situated underground on Breakwater Road .and within the industrial park. South Jersey Gas expects to complete the project this November. At that time. 18 buildings- owned and operated by Cape May County government agencies and several private concerns will be converted to natural gas. Freeholder Catanoso characterized the agreement as a major st^p toward future expansion at the airport industrial park. He said, "We appreciate the work and cooperation South Jersey Gas has ex-
hibited in this project and believe the availability of natural gas service at the airport industrial park will be in the best interest of this facility and the entire county." • Commenting on the upcoming main extension, Sigmund said the project exemplifies South Jersey Gas Co.'s position to increase gas service in the region. "SOUTH JERSEY Gas has been implementing an active marketing policy in Cape May County since acquiring the service area in October of 1983," Sigmund said, "and we view this extension of service as central to that goal. The attractiveness of the Cape May County Industrial Parte, as a location for newbusiness and development, will be enhanced with the addition of natural gas service." Sigmund went on to reaffirm South Jersey Gas Co.'s interest in the economic well being of Cape May County. He said. "We will continue to work <losely with residents, government and the business community here to support economic
growth opportunities "However," Sigmund added, "our number one commitment to the people of Cape May County is to provide dependable natural gas service at the fairest possible price."
