Arrests Up In Avalon J AVALON - This J borough suffered what I might be described as a crime ripple the past summer, with police making 2,528 arrests against 2,543 last year. The report showing the increase of 85 arrests was made by Chief Jospeh E. Foley, and covers the period from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day weekend Parking violations accounted for the greatest number of offenses, with 1,038. Speeding ranked next with 550, and miscellaneous traffic offenses, excluding drunk driving and speeding, for 44. Criminal offenses, excluding drugs and noise, accounted for 415. There were 112 noise arrests and 13 for drug charges. Police nabbed 36 for drunk driving.

Children 's Pot Pourri

CAPE MAY - The citywill offer Children's Pot Pourri as an addendum to its Fall Recreation Program. The class will be an exercise and activity course for children aged 3 to 5. Each class will follow a central theme and activities will include games, arts and crafts, finger plays, singing and much

B.S. Degree To Robinson

LEWISBURG, PA. - . Edward R. Robinson HI, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed- - ward R. Robinson Jr. of Bay Road, Ocean City, received his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering with an education minor from Bucknell University Aug. 9. A member of Cap and

Dagger theatre club, Robinson served as director of promotion for the University Theatre. He was also a member of the Bucknell Christian Fellowship and the Association of Student Civil Engineers. Robinson is a 1980 graduate of Ocean City High School.

Ocean City Is Host

OCEAN CITY - Two Cape May County officials took prominent parts in the eighth annual conference of the County Officers' Association of New Jersey held recently at the Flanders Hotel here. Angela F. Pulvino, county clerk, was the coordinator of the three-day conference. County Surrogate W. Robert Hentges is chief of the Surrogates' Section of the association.

He was installed by Superior Court Judge Joseph Deegan of Middlesex County, who also installed the other association officers, headed by the new president, Donald F. Olsen, Middlesex County surrogate. v -

Casey Gets Second Bar
