ROMANCING THE STONE (CBS/FOX) 'PG" Those who like adventure, good laughs, dynamic acting, fast action and pure escapism will love Romancing The Stone. This is a very pleasurable movie'"" that should entertain the entire family. In Colombia, a romance writer. Kathleen Turner, is trying to save her sister from kidnappers. Coming to her aid is a cool, confident adventurer, Douglas. The two end up in a constant whirlwind of problems brought on not only by the kidnappers but also a corrupt politician and mother nature itself. Romancing The Stone is asking to be compared to the two Indiana Jones movies and thanks to Rober Zemeckis' superb direction Romancing The Stone holds up nicely. WHAT GIVES this film an added edge is the tight script. This isn't an excuse for a lot of special effects, although it has enough of those. Romancing The Stone succeeds because a lot of work went into writing its story and the two stars give outstanding performances. See it. GO IN' ALL THE WAY (Monterey) "R" There are a couple of good jokes in this teen comedy, but, overall this is a film without a story. Due to its weak plot, we're left with characters we can never care about. The scenes are slow and dull and much of the dialogue is insipid. ROMANTIC COMEDY (CBS/FOX) "PG" I'm a huge fan of both Dudley Moore and Man, S teenbur gen, but this is a boring, lackluster comedy. The direction is so. slow paced and the script so vapid it seems twice as long as it actually is. IT'S UNFORTUNATE two talented people have to be stuck with such a bomb. It's also a shame that' Moore seems plagued with roles that try to recreate his????? TRADING PLACES (Paramount) "R" Despite his successes, Animal House and American Werewolf In London, director John Landis' approach v has been heavy handed This, on the other hand is a sheer delight. Of course, Landis is blessed with two commanding stars, Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy. Two rich brothers have a bet that if one takes a successful commodities broker (Aykroyd) out on
the street he'll talk on a criminal slant and if you _ take a crook (Murphy) off the streets and make him a commodities broker he'll stay straight and succeed. As pawns in this game. Aykroyd and Murphy are billiant. Their lines are delivered with plenty of punch and drive and tne scenes are consistently humorous. S An added bonus is the wonderful acting job from' Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays a prostitute who helps Aykroyd and Murphy get revenge. Trading Places is a highly en- I joyable movie.

Raccoons T6 Star In Show STONE HARBOR - Can you keep the lid on your can? The culprits are, of course, the masked bandits who freq'uent our backyards for garbage can treats, according to Dennis Slate, Stockton State College instructor for environmental studies. Slate will present "Tracking Raccoons in Suburbia," an illustrated show of raccoons and their lives near towns and cities, at 8:15 p.m. at the Wetlands Institute Saturday. SLATE WILL describe a raccoon research project conducted 1976-80. He is
| working on his doctorate in I wildlife ecology and management, and holds a degree in forestry as well as a BS in wildlife science. "I studied raccoons because the N.J. Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife needed information in '76., I The animals are in-' I teres ting but difficult to | study since they are night creatures. They are probably increasing as our suburbs grow, and they ! seem to thrive in wooded suburbs. "We have discovered some fascinating facts, and there are some alarming possibilities in the future," j said Slate. His raccoon show will take place in the Marsh view Lecture Hall at I the institute.
