CAPE MAY - Two sons of local residents Bud and
Martha Cohen have been singled out for national
scholastic honors. They are Arthur Lewis Cohen III and his brother, Timothy. Arthur, a freshman at Lower Cape May Regional High School, has been selected to represent the First United Methodist Church and his school in the Sogiety of Distinguished American High School Students. To be selected for the honor, students must demonstrate academic excellence, participate in civic affairs and display leadership in extracurricular activities. Timothy has been nominated for "honorary award recognition" in Who's Who Among | American High School ' Students for- 1983-84. He is also eligible to compete for ) a $1,000 scholarship. > Recognition is given to < students who have demonstrated achievement \ in either academics, i athletics, or extraj curricular activities. Museum Sponsors : Bus Tour COURT HOUSE - The Iv C a p ^ May County ' Historical Society is sponsoring a bus trip to Monmouth County Wednesday, Oct. 17. Included in the trip will be tours of: The Allen House in , Shrewsbury. This structure dates to the 1670's. It in- I eludes the restored I Blueball Tavern. Tbe cur- ' rent exhibit features Monmouth county portraiture. The Monmouth County Historical Museum. TTiis museum houses a collec- j tion of 19th Century decorative arts, both Chippendale and federal furniture, and dolls. THE COVENHOVEN House. Portions of this structure may date to 1710. It was refurbished according to a 1790's inventory It illustrates the lifestyle of a successful farmer during the Revolutionary War. Lunch will be served in the American Hotel. The bus will leave the museum at 7:30 a.m. and return about 5:30 p.m. Deadline for reservations/cancellations is Oct. 3.
