Oct is Sex Ed Month
CREST HAVEN - On 1 Monday, Family Planning t Services is sponsoring a » 1 free seminar on Family f Life Education. \ i The seminar, entitled t "Families, Schools, i Values, and the Future" will be held at the county Health Department building. Crest Haven. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. Roberta Knowlton, executive coordinator of the State Network for Family Life Education, will be the guest speaker. For further information call Family Planning at 465-7911. County Family Planning Services' is sponsoring the "observance of National Family Sexuality Education Month (NFSEM). This year marks the 10th anniversary and expansion „ of the October event. For nine years, one week in October — and this year the entire month — has been \ .set aside to support parents spr as the first and primary sexuality educators of their children. NFSEM is to help community institutions like
religious organizations, schools, clubs, and agencies, to sponsor special events, encouraging parents in their efforts provide accurate information about sexuality to
their children. Working together, parents and their communities can provide the information and skills necessary to prepare today's yfung people to become tomorrow's adults.
