Salute To Weill At SJR T
^OMERS POINT - There is always a general excitement in the air when a theatre begins to buzz with activity just prior to the opening of its season. Such is the feeling at The Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point as the South Jersey Regional Theatre prepared its first show of the season: Berliif to % Broadway with Kurt Weill, a- Musical Voyage. The musical revue opens
today and will play Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:30 and Sundays at 2 until Oct. 28. Kurt Weill is a composer of rare distinction whose music seems to fall into three periods which seem to have nothing in common. Berlin to Broadway explores these periods, combining them into an even-
ing of haunting melodies, gorgeous harmonies and a trip through the life of the briilianty inspired musician. Tickets can be reserved by calling the theatre at 653-0553, Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., or at the box office at the Gateway Playhouse, Bay Avenue.
