, Avalon Recreation Program Detailed

AVALON — Following the refinishing of the gym floor, the borough's fall recreation program is now in full swing. The schedule follows: Line Dancing — Every Thursday, 1-2:30 p.m. at Community Hall, Dot | Wheeler instructor. Ballet for Girls — 1st grade and older every Monday 4 to 5 p.m. Penny Ternosky is running this program for the second year. Penny is also slimnastics instructor every Monday-Wednesday-Friday mornings 9 — 10. Both programs are run at no charge to the participant. EVERY FOURTH Tuesday of each month the Avalon Senior Citizen Association holds fun and games at sessions at the Community Hall 12:30 — 3:30 p.m. New games, crafts and art lessons will be part of the program. Ceremony For Eagle Scout Set TOWN BANK - A Boy Scout Court of Honor at ' which Howard Souder Jr. will become an Eagle Scout will be held Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Town Bank fire , hall. A buffet dinner will be held following the ceremony, j Howard, 17, is the son of Howard and Cecilia Souder. He is a sehior, at Lower Cape May Regional High School and is a four"year varsity letterman, having been on the cross country team, track team and played basketball, and is a member of the golf team Souder also works on the school yearbook and is the school photographer.

OC, Middle Lone Winners

Ocean City trounced Cumberland and Middle Township edge Absegami in Cape-Atlantic League games last weekend. But Lower and Wildwood lost again to remain winless at the bottom of Division II. The Raiders now are tied with Cumberland, whom they beat 25-6 Saturday, and Bridgeton for second place in Division I with 2-1 records. OC picked up 266 yards on the ground. Middle's winning score, a four-yard run by Tim Edwards. came with 2

minutes and 20 seconds remaining at it squeaked by Absegami 19-18. Hammonton. 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Division II. had an easy time with Wildwood, winning 37-20. Lower put a scare into undefeated St. Joseph with a nine-point final quarter, a 25-yard field goal by Ken Brown and a one-yard run by Mike Wing. But its scoreless first three quarters were too much to overepme as the Capers lost. 14-9, and St. Joseph remained tied with Pleasantville atop Division II with a 3-0 record.
