COURT HOUSE - Winners of Cape May County Chamber of Commerce 1984 beautification awards were announced at the Chamber's Annual meeting recently. * There were six nominated properties in the New Construction Category. Top award went to Cape Motor Inn. Beach Drive. Cape May. Other nominees in the new construction category were: Fusco Law Building. 636 West Ave., Ocean City; block of stores. Young Avenue and Boardwalk. Wildwood; Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant, Rio
Grande Avenue. Wildwood; Diamond Beach Development Plaza, 9956 Pacific Ave., Wildwood Crest, and Ocean Place Condominium Phase II. Rambler Road and Atlantic Avenue. Wildwood Crest. IN THE BUSINESS Renovation Category' top award went to the Wildwood Golf and Country Club for its new landscaped parking lot gardens and entrAce. A special award in this category was made to the Borough of Stone Harbor for its 96th Street Revitalization project .This million dollar project -was so large it had to be judged in a class by itself. Other nominees in the Civic/Community Category are in Ocean City the Fire Station and Code Inforcement Building at 6th and Asbury Avenues, the Gardens Parkway Flower Beds to the Longport Bridge, Transportation Center at 10th and Haven Avenues, and entrance signs to Ocean City at 34th Street and 9th Street; in Cape May City the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and the Old Fire House Museum, Washington-Street ALSO.
