Citizens Acquired By N.J' National

TRENTON - The acquisition of Citizens United Bank. N.A. of Vineland by New Jersey National Bank, which is headquartered in Trenton, became effective Oct. 1. The announcement was made by John H. Walther, New Jersey National's chairman and chief executive officer. With its acquisition of Citizens, New Jersey National has over $1.6 billion in total assets and operates 81 banking offices throughout every county of central and southern New Jersey. "Our acquisition of Citizens United Bank represents a major step forward for New Jersey National in our penetration of southern New Jersey markets. This area continues to demonstrate a strong potential for grwoth and we believe that our range of banking services will meet the financial needs of such a market, and will expand the strong

Horizon Planning More New Banks

MORRISTOWN - Horizon Bancorp (NYSE:HZB) announced recently that it has made formal application to the Comptroller of the Currency to establish three new national banks in Philadelphia. Pa., Christiana, Del (a suburb of Wilmington), and Palm Beach, Fla. The new banks will be wholly-owned subsidiaries of Horizon Bancorp. William J.
