Utility to Extend Needy Aid Fund

PLEASANTVILLE - For the second year, Atlantic Electric will form a partnership with its customers to help pay the heating bills of financially strapped families this winter throughout Southern New Jersey. Last year 36,000 customers and employees donated more than $68,000 to the Good Neighbor Fund, and the company added another $75,000 in startup and matching funds. Through the fund, more than 750 families received a total of almost $100,000 in one-time grants up to $200 each. The fund helps families who are temporarily unable to meet their basic heating expenses, even if tljeir heating squrce is nonelectric. •WITH MANY families still in need of assistance, we are extending the program through 1965," stated Ray Gage. Atlantic Electric's manager of consumer affairs. Beginning this month, through hill inserts and

other advertisements, the company will ask customers to "Share the Warmth Again" by adding a dollar to their monthlyelectric payments. Larger donations can be made by sending checks or moneyorders payable to the Good Neighbor Fund. ,Gnce again the companywill match customer contributions and send the proceeds to the Salvation Armf. which administers the program and selects 'recipients.
