Russ Bailey, to always chic Nancy Phillips looking like Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, who literally let her hair doyn. Thai set the patteifii of food, fun and frolic. Everybody else let their hair down'too. The Seniors' Orchestra played every dance form from Mummers' Strut to Peckin' Chicken. Everyone (with the exception of Charlie Rudrauff. who suffered uncomplainingly from gout ) was in the modd for a great night and that we got! THE SEA LIONS gave their usual bully-bash Benefit Cocktail Party for the Diller Home for the Blind at> the Windrift in Avalon Oct. 7. It was nifty as always and enjoyed the support of more than 300 lovers of this island's proudest achievement. Bobby Worthley and Kathy Kurian co-chaired the event, ably assisted by dynamic Bonnie Feise, who \ did all the floral ■^^decorations. Beth Schubert created the witch, the scarecrow and ceramic raffle prizes. George Layten played danceable organ music over which conversation was easUy heard. Lottie* ** Honer sang charming songs a cappella for which people stopped talking and listened. Hors d'oevres were magnificent. BUI Schaffer gave us the secret about the ones we had — he gets to eat all the ones wife Peg drops on the floor while making them. It was great. Don't miss next year's! AVALON SENIORS held their . first luncheon meeting at the Golden Inn in Avalon, Oct. 9. "We were welcomed by piano music played by volunteer virtuoso Jack Warren. Then Prexy John Walter introduced manager Dennis Curley, who welcomed us verbaUy. He should get an Oscar Award

for extending the season in that borough. He has persuaded much-loved chef "Mr. Vince" Mostico to rejoin the Inn this year, which elicted cheers from many.

About 165 members enjoyed themselves so greatly they voted unanimously to bold aU future luncheons there. Sr. JacqueUne of Holy Redeemer Hospice was principal speaker. Calling herself "a flying nun", she detailed many of

the services available at rthe facility in Swainton, including meals on wheels, nursing care in patients' homes under directions of their physicians, pain control and nursing care in homes of the terminally ill, free flu shots, free blood pressure testing and a

great deal more Patients' ability to fund their care is always taken into consideration. We sat with Miriam McNkbol. Pauline DiTommasi and Ann Allen. During the business part new members were restricted to residents of

the Borough of Avalon. We just made it, thanks to George Sea Uer good.
