Mews Notes from — ; The Cape Mays Dolly Stango
Pilgrim in Love, an introduction to Dante and His Spirituality by James Collins. is the much soughti after book written by FatI ther Jim Collins, a resident of Cape May Point in the Summer. During school months he's chairman of the Religious Studies Department at Holy Family College in Philadelphia. Mostly, in Cape May we know Father Collins because he celebrates Mass at Our Lady of the Sea/ana at St. Agnes, Cape May Point. Josie Davids of Keltie's Book Store on the Mall ( opposite the church) is accepting orders now. Perhaps many have it in mind to give this book as a Christmas gift to someone in their families, so do stop in make your order known. I've had many come to me but Keltie's is the place to go. As soon as copies come in. Father Collins promises to autograph same for anyone wishing it. She's Betty Miller, hostess-with-the-mostest, at the Anchorage Restaurant, Schellenger's Landing. Betty smiles a lot and is ever so cordial ; she rembers names too! Also featured at An-
chorage is Teddy Wilson at the organ. The music is sweet and in the style belonging to Teddy Lee Ryan, chief cook at the restaurant, goes out of his way. You just know he's doing the very best for you ! It's so wonderful to have her^ome and well — none other than Anna Purgalorio of West Cape May. She stopped to tell me she wishes to thank everyone who remembered her during her very' long illness. But now Anna's smiling, and rightfully so. We do wish her only the best. She's Rosemary Stumpo, <yUzen extraordiaire in Cape May. In her own subtle little way, Rosemary gets it done. Never promises quickly, but you can look for results well ahead of time! It's a delicious cake, Italian in origin, made of candied fruit, nuts, honey and bittersweet chocolate, j named after the great Italian poet Gabreile D'Annunzio and created by master pastry chef, Luigi D'amico in the 30's. Know what it's called? "Sen1— zanome." which means without-a-name! Supposedly. it's out of this world and there's no discribing it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to sister Josephine Rothschild. HELLEN SMITH, (Charles Makington, Leslie Shore, John Owens and Shirley Todd, all visitors who want desparately to come back to Cape May). Sister Josephine makes her home |" here in Cape May and does so much in the way of helping others. He was the only priest or- ' dained at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Cape May, and it all happened 13 years ago. Father Dozier Wilson of Cape May Point said he returned briefly to greet everyone and to see his "beloved town. Father Wilson, who is black, brought with him a busload of black and white students from Columbia Greene Community College (Hudson, N.T.), where he teaches and as he says, , "administers as best he can. ...some common sense too." Anyone wishing to write Father Wilson can do . So at P.O. Box 1000, Hudson, N.Y. 12534. L
