S.J. Fuel Bought By Lakewood Firm
FOLSOM - William F. Ryan, president and chief executive officer of South Jersey Industries, Inc., has announced the signing of an agreement of sale of the company's fuel oil distribution subsidiary. South Jersey Fuel, Inc., to Acme Oil Co., of Lakewood for approximately 84 million. The closing is schedueld for Oct. 31. Ryan stated the South Jersey Fuel, formed through a series of acquisitions of small fuel oil distributors beginning in 1971,. was a steady, if unspectacular.xcontributor to South Jersey Industries' earnings but was not on the - market for sale. HOWEVER, everything has its price, and Acme's ■ price was attractive to the company," Ryan said. He added, i^'We will put these dollars to other uses in other segments of our business, as well as looking to new business opportunities."
