If you've never visited the Thrift Shop in the basement of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Cape May, you're in for a delightful surprise. There are lots of desired items, including lovely dresses, coats, shoes, children's clothes and housewares. There's even an accordian in good condition But now, there's something special, an electric chair-lift with an upholstered seat, making it no problem for the person or persons who need assistance going from one floor to another. This piece of equipment is in first-rate condition with all the necessary attachments, and can be seen Fridays

and Saturdays at the Thrift Shop. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. J EVER NOTICE the painting of the Americana in the Lobster House Restaurant's large diningroom it pictures the large ship located alongside the restaurant and in the summer is a very popular place for cocktails, lunch, dinner, etc. Well, the painting of the Americana was done by Msgn. Leo Hudzik, former pastor of St. John of God Church in North Cape May and now partially retired. Monsignor Hudzik was the pastor of Saint Monica's in Atlantic City for 30 years. His congregation started out with 19 people and went up to 2,000 parishioners and was made up of many, many converts too! Monsignor, who now makes his home in North Cape May, says he now wants to devote more time v to painting and perhaps some time in the not-too-distant future to have a showing of all his works. We wish Monsignor Hudzik continued good health and look forward to seeing his artwork. HERE ARE some dates you might want to record in your calendar: Republican Women's Club meets the fourth Monday of the month, making it Nov. 26th; Altar and Rosary* Society of Star of the Sea has a bus going to Harrah's Casino on Thursday, Nov. 29, leaving front of the Victorian Towers 9 a.m. For reservations call Margaret Dalin at 884-4492.

"Cruise Night Party" hosted by R-Way Travel and Tours at the Atlas Motor Inn recently was a lovely affair. "Liqda" of the R-Way staff was a most amiable helper, even to calling those she hadn't heard from yet. The celebration was all done by engraved invitations, an indication of how R-Way does everything. • • • HERE'S something to serve for a "very special person" in your life! "Tomatoes with Sour Cream and Caviar." Wash, dry and remove stems from watercress and arrange some of the leaves on each plate. Top with a oneinch thick slice of peeled ripe tomato that has been marinated in vinaigrette. Mix equal portions of sour

cream and creme fraiche and add finely minced scallions, a small quantity of minced celery and a little dill and chervil. Spoon two heaping tablespoons of the sauce onto each tomato slice and top with a generous portion of fresh red salmon roe caviar. Voila! IN MEMORIAM: Federico Harry Velii of Cape May, a resident here for 79 years, and in business locally for over 40 years. "Harry," as he was known to everyone, was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 386. American Legion Post 193 . and a charter member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Eugene Velii, a son, was formerly Cape May Police Chief.
