Evidence Required To Get SS Card
Everyone who applies for a Social Security number must provide evidence of age, identity, and U.S. citizenship or lawful alien status, including young children. Parents sometimes have difficulty finding the required evidence for their children. They expeeially have trouble with the idea of providing evidence of identity. Proof of age is relatively easy; an official U.S. public birth certificate recorded before age 5 is preferred. This document will also establish citizenship.
