Eastern Shore Slates Flea Market Fair Sat.

SWAINTON - A flea market fair will be held Saturday for . residents of Eastern Shore Nursing and Convalescent Center, now in its second year of operation. The nursing home, located on Route 9, has 120 beds. The first resident was admitted on Sept. 27, 1983, five days after the facility was licensed by the State of New Jersey. Saturday's flea market will be open between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Various activities held during October included a guitar music sing along, an a p p le'-fes t i val hafbratTS bingo party, an apple butter and bread festival, a , fpfflowe'en party and art study. THE CENTER is currently in need of volunteers for .^various arts and crafts. Religious services include regular Mass and rosary services. , ' The convalescent center offers both j private and semi- ■ private rooms. Level of care is determined by the resident's physician on admission. Services include room, board, general nursing care and personal laundry. Nursing, medical and special supplies designated by the resident physician are billed separately. OTHER SERVICES such as laboratory, x-ray, EKG, physical therapy and, audiology are billed directly by the provider as ordered by the physician. Support personnel include dietary, activities, social services, physical therapy, housekeep-

ing and maintenance. Visiting hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The administrator is Karen K. Bayer. Director of nursing is Georgina Cavagnaro. Social services and admissions director is Tamara Wissinger. Hospital insurance can help pay for care at Eastern Shore for nursing or rehabilitative ser-

vices. In general, the patient must be hospitalized for three consecutive days before transferring to the nursing home within 30 days after leaving the hospital. Also, for insurance purposes, a doctor must certify that the patient needs such care on a daily basis, and a review committee must give its approval.
