$100 Million Sewage Plans

K SWAINTON - By 1985. f more than $100 million will r have been earmarked for sewage treatment facilities along the Seven Mile. Middle and Wildwood -Lower regions, the county Municipal Utilities Authority said. Grants, alloted by the

federal Environmental Protection Agency, include $62 million set aside last year plus another $41.4 million commitment for next year. The 1983 funding is t<f build the first segments of the sewage treatment plants. The 1985 funds are to provide secondary treatment facilities for the two

service regions. "It means Cape May County will receive onethird of the total amount of grants funds available to the State of New Jersey for wastewater treatment projects during' the time of reduced federal funds," George Marinakis. executive director of the county MUA. said. County freeholders took, note of that, commending the agency "for dilligently pursuing the funding." Freeholder Anthony T. Catanosa said: "There is no doubt that tte need to clean up the back bay pollution caused by existing wastewater treatment facilities and to replace them with new. environmentally acceptable projects wafc a compelling reason for J tne extraordinary grapt awards."
