tJews Notes from- - The Cape Mays DoHy Stango

It's official' Angelo Infanu» is the newly elected Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus "Ange". as he is known to everyone, was formerly a police lieutenant for the City of Cape May Needless to say, we all Join in wishing Grand Knight Infanto con tinued success West Cape May is plann ing its annual Christmas Parade for Saturday, Dec l, at 7 pm Rain dale is Monday, the 3rd. Now sponsors are requesting donations in order to get this much wanted parade together Want to help? It's 884 1005, 884-4748, or for mail-ins, 732 Broadway. West Cape May She's back after an ex tensive vacation to Holland, Germany, etc. etc None other than Mildred Moore of West Cape May. It was thoughtful of Mildred to remember me along her travels. I've saved the Dutch stamp! f AT CAPE MAY'S recent Mayor's Advisory Committee meeting speaker for the evening was James F. Cavanaugh. executive director of the Housing Authority on Lafayette Street where there are a total of 85 units. He advised there are many new plans under way One is the installation of a completely new lighting system, the high pressure sodium type seen along Cape May's Beach Drive The lights will add considerably to safety in that area, where so many occupying the housing units are senior ! citizens. This is to start 1 sometime in December and i finish up in January. Also, ! a periodic inspection program is being set up so that all will be assured the much sought-after housing units are kept in prime condition. It's gratifying to know that all applicants within a j three-mile limit are given priority, so that all in the surrounding area receive first consideration. Also under discussion is the possibility that the Housing Authority might consider the possibility of selling at 25% of the market value. Tenants would receive first choice. Many continue to like the rental aspect while 1

there is also some interest in the selling part too NO MATTER how, you can't lose with these lovely little homes If you've never been inside one, you're in for a delightful surprise; they're airy, bright, well equipped and well maintained The authority makes sure the grounds are always neatly kept (no expense to the renters) ... and there is ample parking for tenants The Housing Authority welcomes the public at its monthly meetings, held the third Monday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Housing Authority Office, Lafayette Street. Cape May I know you've heard of Bridge Cruises where one plays bridge througout the entire cruise time, but this is a new one to me — it's a Trivial Pursuit Cruise by the originators of the game The trip is all set for Jan. 4 aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2, going to the Carribbean and there will be 6,000 new questions Know what the prize is? Another trip on the QE 2! One person going that I know is Ed Gallagher of Cape May He's all set to bone up and try to win the much wanted prize of the second cruise!
