It's an ex- „ citing month for us — with holidays ahead and a momentum building up for the next two months^firrrr - November tho turns the corner into wintry winds ;* and dropping temperatures. The trees S are left clean as a whistle by those windy blasts. ♦ * » While there isn't much color left out- , doors, the" blooming of hardy chrysanthemums in a variety of colors do help to ' cheer the November landscape in our gardens. This quaint country cafe remains busy year round, featuring an attractive decor and a creative menue. The small well appointed dining room consists of 14 linen covered tables accented with fresh flowers, candelight and a fireplace decorated for the seasons. The menue is sure to please every appetite with light, familiar dishes such as Veal Picante or Shrimp Scampi to be more daring (suggested Chicken Christine — stuffed breast of chicken wrapped in a puff pastry). Open for dinner Friday til ' Monday from 5:30. Great reasonably priced brunch on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. til 1 p.m. Reservations accepted at 368-7741. » ♦ ♦ CRYSTAL ROOM. The Pilot House, at 142 Decatur Street, on the mall in Cape May is one of the town's best known spots for cozy dining by the wanning fireplace in wintertime, patio dining in the summer. While the seasons change, the Pilot House offers the same unlimited choices ranging from choice seafood, steaks and house specialties to great munchings dur- ( ing the late hour Luncheon is served year round, with choices of salads, sandwiches, the best burgers in town (all I kinds of burgers), and hot platters. The drinks are renowned throughout the town; the atmosphere is always pleas- J. ing; the service always attentive. Some of the town's most attractive waitresses always seem to be on hand at the Pilot House. ... j, PETER SHIELDS. Talk about getting away from it all, and the Peter Shields Restaurant, 1301 Beach Drive, (at Trenton Ave.,) Cape May always seems to | come up in conversation. It is so uniquely located along the oceanfront, in a huge turn-of-the-century mansion that the setting in itself would be enough to bring in a crowd. But the Peter , Shields turns its attention not only to complimenting the grand interior with beautiful furnishings, but has hired a talented chef to oversee the kitchen preparations. They don't make houses like the Peter Shields any longer, but the food, service and beverages are in the grand tradition. Sat. and Sun. brunch from 9 to 2:30.
