'v Cape May Tours To Run All Month
CAPE MAY — Every weekend in November, the MidAtlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) is sponsoring Trolley&Physick Estate Tours and Walking Tours that offer visitors an overview of Cape May's famous Victorian architecture. Combination Trolley/ Estate Tours are scheduled Saturdaysat 10:30a.m., 11:30a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.; and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 12 noon. They begin at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., with an hour-long guided trolley tour that covers both the East End and West End Historic Districts. In Mac's heated, enclosed Trolley-bus, trained guides G point out landmark buildings and regale visitors with accounts of Cape May's heyday as a Victorian seashore resort. Upon returning to the estate, visitors are guided , through the interior of the Physick House. The 16- room I mansion was designed by renowned architect Frank Furness. Built in 1881 in the stick style, is has been restored as a Victorian House Museum. Its interior con-tains-outstanding examples of East-lake style furnishings and fixtures (many which were original family pieces designed by Furness, himself), as well as collections of costumes, toys, and artifacts, e Ending the combination tour, visitors are served hot . cider and goodies in the Physick House kitchen. Tickets aTe on sale at the entrance to the Physick House. No reser- - vations are necessary. Walking Tours of the Historic District are offered every Sunday at 10 a.m. Providing an entertaining orientation.

Each walking tour takes about 1'6 hours and begins at the Information Booth at the head of the Washington Street Mall at (Ocean Street).
Optimists Seek Youth Nominees LOWER TOWNSHIP - Youth Appreciation Week hasbeen set for Nov. 12 - 16 by the Lower Cape Optimist Club. President Bob Bonner is calling for public input of names of/ Cape May and Lower Township area youths who have done some unselfish act or outstanding deed. "The youth we are looking for can excel in any area of community life, church, school, clubs or community service," Bonner said. "It isn't important wether this youth is popular ; we're looking for youths deserving of a special recognition." Anyone knowing of a deserving youth is asked to send the youth's name, address, telephone number and a short resume of the deed to: Joseph Cirrinicione, 801 Kathryn Blvd., Cape May, N.j. 08204. Entries must be postmarked no later than Nov. 8. Persons sending in names need not be Optimists; anyone may submit a name as long as the youth is in grades 7 through 12. Winner of the Youth Appreciation Award will be honored with his or her parents at the Lower Cape Optimist meeting during the special week. Myers Gets 2nd Award OCEAN CITY - Newly promoted Sgt. John S. Myers Jr., son of John S. Myers Sr. of Gloucester, and local resident Fannie C. Carrick, has been decorated with the second award of the Army Achievement, Medal at Fart Bragg, N.C. The Achievement Medal is awarded to soldiers for accomplishment, meritorious service or acts of courage. Myers is a supply sergeant with the 82nd <■ Airborne Division. i
