LCMR To Present Night With Band

ERMA — The Lower Cape May Regional High School's Fine Arts Department will present "A Night With The Capers" Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. in the school auditorium. The evening features the high school band performing a wide selection of "outdoor" musical arrangements. Band at the High School is an academeic course which applies musical knowledge to performance. The performances take on a variety of functions. This year's field show

consists of several original arrangements designed specifically for the Capers. The opening work is Fame. In this piece the low brass instruments are featured (Kendall Davis, Tony Mendyck, Jeff Coon, Lew Megonigal, Steve Linhares, and Craig Pilczuk) AN OLD compositon by the Kinks which has been resurrected called Come Dancin' follows Fame. The work begins with a rhythm section solo. Keyboard players featured are Joe Holzmer and Jeff Sharpley along with percussionists David Lane, Bee Myers, Dave. Johnston, Marie Wallace, Charlie Johnson, Tina Grossweiler, and Amanda Tuel. Horns (Samantha Hunter, Vicki Miller and Pete Imler) and tenor sax-

ophones (Dan Gilliam, Bill Palm, Steve Souder, and Todd Las key) start the main melody with a calypso styled solo. Other members of the rhythm section (Pat O'Leary, Bill Miller both on electric bass and Tom Wagner on guitar) provide sylized rhythmic accompaninment . THE CONCERT selection follows, which is a medley of Jumpin with Symphony Sid and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. This piece features an improvisational solo by Kendall Davis on trombone with melodic counterpoint from the woodwinds, and trumpet solos by Charyl Calfina, Henry Kobik, Jason Averill, Bryan Wuerker, Bryan Dukes, Stephanie Miller and Doug Patrick. Trombonists (Jeff Coon, Tony Mendyck, and Kendall Davis) play driving harmonies which fill out the full ensemble sound. The concluding piece is Eye of the Tiger. This arrangement features Charyl Calfina on trumpet and Tom Wagner on guitar. Woodwind counterpoint is provided by flutes, clarients, and saxophones (Rhodesa Rabina. Tricia Miller, Rubi Rabino, Kitty Petruccelli, Fairlight Conrad, Michelle Goodroe, Sue Hyson, Michelle Shillito, Kim Houston, Sandi Garrison, Tracey Hilvert, Buddy Cohen, Kelly McGay, Lolli Rea, Paula Kurzweil, Sue Hutter, Robin Kanady, Rowena Rabino, Val Yea ricks, Joanne Brandt, Chuck Hawley, Corey Patrick, John Spriggs, Michael St. John and Jirn^ Cohen). DRUM MAJOR for the

Capers is Tim Cohen. Tim is also assistant arranger and the composer of the percussion parts for the field show. Assistant drum majors are Tom Wagner and Kendall Davis. Music librarian is Sandi Garrison and equipment manager is Lew Megonigal. The concert will also feature visual color provided by pom pons led by Mary Reeves and flags led by Christine MacDonald, and Lisa Harper. Members of the choreography unit include: Marguerite Elmer, Tracy Kirkbride, Linda Merrill, Kelli Melady, Dana Ployd, Leslie Dennis, Elissa Manna, Sassy Hanson, Shannon Devine, Wendy Hightower, Colleen Trimble, Kathy Purdy, Phoebe Crespa, Karen Becica, Margaret Todd, Donna Helwig, Gia Cardaci, Luanna Chappell. Terri Calfina, Michelle Brennan, Diane Anderson, Christine Garner, Sherri Wilson, Michelle Wing, Myra Valentine, and Jackie Carter.

Christmas Bazaar Set WILDWOOD — .
